“Quench not the Spirit.”
1 Thessalonians 5:19 (KJV)

Don’t Quench the Spirit

Have you ever suddenly wanted to pray, sing a song, or do something kind for someone? Sometimes, the Holy Spirit gives you these gentle promptings.
You may feel like praying in tongues when you’re not in a convenient place. You may suddenly think of a good idea or feel excited about learning something new. When this happens, pay attention. The Holy Spirit may be showing you something.
And you can choose to listen or ignore Him. When you choose to ignore His promptings, you are quenching the Spirit.
But when you listen and respond, you learn to recognize His leading more easily.
You don’t have to understand everything first. Trust God and take the right step when He leads you.

Read Your Bible.
